  • Hello,

May I have more information re: Coming Up with Ideas and Protecting Them? Where can I sign up / register? Thanks — would appreciate your reply.

    Ingrid

  • Will update you as soon as I get the final details, Ingrid.
We’re also working on a feature on incubators for the month of April. Would be grateful for any info if you know anything about that. :)
This might be related: On April 15 (PM), PTTC and the Intellectual Property Office has a talk on Understanding Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights. The fee is around P75. You can register at 4688969 or info@pttc.gov.ph
I attended this talk last year and it was mostly “Oh, I see…” Nothing too specific on IT but could be useful.

  • That would be a nice feature. Aside from the UP Ayala Technology Business Incubator obviously, you should consider talking to people in InWent. I heard about them in the German cable channel. I think they have business incubation programs in Thailand, but they also have an office here in Manila. I;m just not sure what their Philippine programs are. Found their website:

  • Thanks for the tip! Will look into InWent.

  • Updated this post and uploaded invite (jpg) for April 10 Innovation Forum :)
I’m not too keen on shelling out another P500 though.

  • I didn’t know about this until I read an article in Sunstar :( Got anymore events coming to Cebu?

Me and my friends are looking for startup funds to work on our “idea” but I have little info/idea on how to do it here in Cebu. Are there any YCombinator-like communities here?

Does this site have a mailing list or something where people can discuss things?

  • @Wenbert: Sorry to hear that. Maybe you’d like to chat with the Cebu-based guys from Simpleteq and Morph Labs. Check out their page in the Companies section.

As also requested by some readers to facilitate discussion, we’re setting up a forum and events section. Be sure to subscribe to the RSS or email subscription so you don’t miss it next time.

  • thanks marie!
I will probably get in touch with the other guys here in Cebu after we (me and my friend) are ready or something… :P

    I can’t wait for that forum ;)
