We’re back!!!! And I have a great idea (though not original, but long overdue)… that I really want to happen within the next 12 months. I’m seriously considering moving to a bigger office space in an IT building (or maybe an outfitted warehouse) that has redundant internet connection, 100% backup power supply, ample parking space, a conference room, and most importantly, GREAT PEOPLE around me! You like?
So I’m looking for freelance designers or developers, software startup teams, and entrepreneurs from the Pinoy Web Startup community who want to be around like-minded people and share a workspace with them. CoWorking has been popular in Seattle, Philadelphia, NYC, among others. You pretty much do it already when you bring your laptop to a coffee shop with WiFi. In our Workspace, you can just bring your laptop and work on your own desk and interact with your neighbors when you like. We can have networking events and learning sessions to hone our technical skills.
Please answer the PinoyWebStartup Community CoWorking Survey so that we can find out how you can best benefit from a collaborative workspace.
Special thanks to Oklahoma City CoWorking Collaborative and CoWorking.

Yeah I saw that. Specs are good, wifi and everything, ~5k/mo… have you been to ProudCloud? Personally, I’m not too “at home” in Eastwood, having grown up in the south. I can’t imagine making the commute! That’s why in the survey, I didn’t bother to list Libis anymore.
I hope there’s enough willing to make the commute to Makati/Manila/Pasay/Manda though.

nice idea. about 3 days a week would be perfect… something like a halfway house between client meetings in makati and home office in QC.

I think it’s really perfect for small (work at home) teams. I remember us (syndeolabs) having a similar one (although it’s an office) where we meet twice a week and all of us hacking in and occupying a single conference table!

This is a good idea. I did this a few years back with my friends — but on a smaller scale. We rented a small room and got internet connection from my cousin’s house. It was great. Aside from the internet and no air conditioning, the people and environment were the best… hehe
If you guys know similar setups in Cebu, give me a twit (@wenbert)…
